Dual Classes

Introduction

When you reach level 105 and have the required item you can choose any of the five classes to combine, or Dual, your original class with. The only exceptions here are that wizards and priests may not choose to dual with the priest or wizard class respectively, they may only use one kind of magic that their original class chose.

Requirements for Dual Class I-V:

Dual II 110+ Balrog's Tooth 2,500 or 60,000
Dual III 120+ Lich's Eyeball 3,000 or 70,000
Dual IV 135+ Red Dragon's Scale 4,000 or 80,000
Dual V 150+ 5,000 and 90,000

Keep in mind that using Fame to upgrade Dual Classes will result in the loss of 500 fame every time and using Arena Ladder to upgrade Dual Classes will result in the loss of 20,000 Arena Ladder. If you have Fame and Arena Ladder both the game will automatically choose and deduct Fame to promote rather then Arena Ladder. To dispel popular belief, Dual Classing will not give you the abilities of the Class that you choose to Dual with. It simply increases your maximum stats capability as well as adding extra stats to your current by a total of 100 added differently depending on your Dual choice as shown below. For Archers, Thieves and Warriors it also opens up the ability to learn Extreme combat skills while Priests and Wizards get access to some new powerful spells.

Symbols

Each Dual class has a symbol that enhances particular abilities. The symbols are graded from G1 to G4. Depending on the Symbol, you'll need to collect 20 Dark Bear Skin (DB) or 20 Cyclops Skin (CYC) to get a G1 Symbol.

Upgrading Symbols

To upgrade your G1 symbol additional items are required.
G2 requires 20 Mana Metal
G3 requires 20 Branch of Klattu
G4 requires 20 Eye of Gazer

The NPC required to upgrade the symbol is a Dark Elf who lives on the 3rd floor of Venom Dungeon, and certain items are required to access the deeper levels and rooms. Each time you visit the NPC you will need the following:

  • 1 Mushroom, to access level 1.
  • 1 Tooth of Argo, to access level 2.
  • 1 Mana Metal, to access level 3.
  • 1 Tentacle of Gazer, to access the room where you will find the Dark Elf.

It therefore makes sense to collect all the items and upgrade your G1 symbol to a G4 symbol in one visit to save you hunting/trading for the extra items needed to access the floors each time.

Bonus Ability Points

Each time you raise your character to the next dual class you get 100 bonus ability points automatically distributed according to which class you choose to dual with. Use the following tables to see what abilities are affected when choosing to dual with that class.
